fortell company from Lanškroun celebrates its 30th anniversary: A story of craftsmanship that shapes the future
Roots in the industrial heart of Eastern Bohemia
The history of fortell s.r.o. is inseparably connected with the town of Lanškroun, which even after decades still proudly holds the status of an industrial center of the region. It was here, in the former TESLA plant, and in the nearby town of Letohrad, that a number of companies focusing on electrical engineering and toolmaking emerged after 1989.

Fortell was born out of this environment in 1995 – literally from scratch – when five founders, traders and engineers, set up their own office. The name fortell is not accidental: it symbolizes “fortel,” meaning craftsmanship, and the two “l’s” at the end refer to the hometowns of the founders – Lanškroun and Letohrad.
From design to own production
From the very beginning, the company focused on both domestic and international clients. It offered its own design services and external mold production, including small-series stamping. However, it soon began to build its own production base. In 1997 it launched its first operation – stamping metal parts on press automation. In the following years, other key manufacturing segments were added: production of metal parts on eccentric presses (1998), its own tool shop (2000), and a plastics injection molding plant (2003), which gradually became the largest and most significant production center.
Dynamic growth, however, soon hit its limits: rented premises restricted capacities and threatened stability. Therefore, the owners decided on the biggest investment up to that point, and in 2008 fortell moved its production from several locations into its own modern facility. Built “from scratch,” the plant became one of the most architecturally interesting industrial buildings in the town. A new chapter in the company’s history began here.
Comprehensive services under one roof
For many years, fortell has positioned itself as a supplier of comprehensive solutions – from design through mold/tool production to final assembly of components. This model makes it possible to eliminate dependence on subcontractors, which is today a key competitive advantage. Production is fully customized and spread mainly across the electrical engineering, automotive, and consumer industries, minimizing market risks.

Awards, quality and social responsibility
The company is a holder of several prestigious awards – for example DHL Exporter of the Year or Company of the Year of the Pardubice Region. It holds certifications ČSN EN ISO 9001:2016 and ČSN EN ISO 14001:2016, which confirm the high standard of quality and environmentally friendly approach.

The company actively supports technical education – it is one of the founding members of the Lanškroun Companies Community, and it supports events, associations, and local suppliers.
Digital transformation and future direction
Modern production cannot operate without a reliable information system. In 2023 fortell implemented a new IS KARAT system, which unified key company processes, enabled digital document management, and created a centralized data base. At the same time, the company monitors new trends and has actively started using artificial intelligence, especially in the areas of production, IT, and marketing.
During its thirty years of existence, fortell has transformed from a small technical office into a strong and respected partner for customers around the world. Our story is an example of how a combination of expertise, vision, and regional roots can lead to long-term and sustainable success.
