ROMI Automation: Automatic production of plates from recycled rubber

Automated machinery for producing large-format recycled rubber plates for various applications. The solution is designed to process compounds requiring a high compression ratio during pressing. The main challenges were automatically mixing approximately 350 litres of compound, keeping the mixer clean between production cycles, and spreading the mixture quickly and evenly in the mould. The compound contained very fine rubber granules measuring 0.2–0.4 mm and a high polyurethane content of up to 30%. This composition made handling particularly difficult and placed significant demands on the automated production process.
