ALLROUNDER e TREND: ARBURG Sets a new standard in electric injection moulding machines

ALLROUNDER e TREND: ARBURG Sets a new standard in electric injection moulding machines
Rising energy costs, pressure to improve production efficiency and a shortage of skilled workers are changing how plastics processors assess new investments. ARBURG is responding to these trends with the launch of its new ALLROUNDER e TREND series of electric injection moulding machines, which was progressively introduced to industry professionals across Europe, including the Czech Republic, during 2026.

Why ARBURG Developed the New TREND Series of Electric Injection Moulding Machines

In recent years, the plastics industry has faced increasing pressure to improve cost efficiency. Manufacturing companies must respond to rising energy prices, fluctuating costs for production premises and a long-term shortage of skilled workers. In this environment, the machine's purchase price alone is no longer the decisive criterion. Far more important are the costs the equipment will generate throughout its entire life cycle.

The ALLROUNDER e TREND concept is based precisely on this philosophy. In its white paper, ARBURG describes five main factors that have a fundamental impact on the operating economics of an injection moulding machine: energy consumption, production space requirements, process quality and stability, maintenance costs and the potential for future machine upgrades. The new series was designed to offer an optimal balance between investment and long-term operation in all these areas.

The manufacturer therefore opted not for the maximum number of functions and technological variants, but for a standardised concept emphasising simplicity, high operating efficiency and rapid availability. The aim is to offer customers a machine that is cost-effective not only at the time of purchase, but above all during everyday production.

ALLROUNDER e TREND: A New Standard for Common Injection Moulding Applications

The ALLROUNDER e TREND series is intended for standard injection moulding applications across various industries. At market launch, four sizes with clamping forces ranging from 500 to 2 000 kN were available. The machines are designed with an emphasis on fast delivery, straightforward commissioning and simple day-to-day operation.

Energy efficiency is an important part of the concept. The ALLROUNDER e TREND offers low specific energy consumption while maintaining high process stability. Attention was also paid to the machine's compact dimensions. For example, the ALLROUNDER 1000 e TREND is approximately 15 % narrower than comparable competing machines, saving production floor space and providing greater flexibility when planning production cells.

Simpler maintenance and the option of gradual upgrades also influence operating economics. All necessary interfaces are provided at the factory, allowing customers to add further functions, automation or digital services according to future needs without extensive modifications to the machine.

GESTICA lite Simplifies Injection Moulding Machine Operation

An integral part of the new series is the GESTICA lite control system, which was developed specifically for TREND machines. Its main objective is to simplify operation and reduce the time required to train operators.

The new user interface offers a clear dashboard, intuitive navigation and quick access to all important parameters. The operator has all key production information available on the home screen and can easily switch between the machine's individual functions.

The system also includes intelligent assistance functions. MaintenanceAssist supports maintenance through integrated video tutorials directly in the control system. The FirstShotAssist function enables faster production start-up by automatically calculating a data set based on an STL model of the product. AI-supported search and an online help assistant are also included.

World Premiere of the ALLROUNDER e TREND at Technology Days 2026

The official premiere of the new series took place during Arburg Technology Days 2026 at the company's headquarters in Lossburg. The event welcomed approximately 3 750 visitors from 44 countries and once again confirmed its importance as one of the largest industry events in plastics injection moulding.

Technology Days 2026 in Lossburg attracted more than 3700 visitors from 44 countries around the world

It was here that the TREND machines were first presented to the wider industry audience. Visitors could watch several real production applications while also obtaining detailed information about their design, economic benefits and automation options. Tours of the production plants were also an important part of the programme, during which ARBURG presented the new production concept designed for TREND machines.

Practical Demonstration of the TREND Machine for Customers in Czechia and Slovakia

The world premiere was followed by a series of regional activities aimed at bringing the technology closer to end customers. In the Czech Republic, the presentation took place at the company's technology centre in Brno, while a similar event was also held at the Slovak branch in Martin. Participants had the opportunity to see the machine in actual operation, try out the GESTICA lite control system and discuss the economic benefits of the TREND concept for specific production applications with experts.

In promoting the machine, ARBURG focused not only on its technical specifications, but above all on its benefits for day-to-day production, rapid commissioning, ease of operation and low total cost of ownership.

ALLROUNDER e TREND at the MSV 2026 and Fakuma 2026 Trade Fairs

Following its successful premiere and regional presentations, the new series also headed to major trade fairs. A particularly important stop will be MSV 2026 in Brno, where ARBURG will present TREND machines to Czech and Slovak industry professionals for the very first time. At the company's stand in hall G1, an ALLROUNDER 1000 e TREND equipped with a MULTILIFT linear robotic system and a KUKA robot will be on display. Visitors will see the automated production of a garden trowel and will also be introduced to the digital tools of the MES system, the arburgXworld customer portal and the new GESTICA lite control system.

The international presentation will continue at the Fakuma 2026 trade fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Here, ARBURG will present TREND machines as part of its Smartest Factory vision, which integrates injection moulding machines, automation, software and digital services into a single functional whole.

ARBURG Focuses on Efficiency, Automation and Low Operating Costs

The ALLROUNDER e TREND series is not merely another addition to ARBURG's portfolio. It is a carefully considered response to the current requirements of the plastics industry, where operating costs, ease of operation, energy efficiency and a rapid return on investment are playing an increasingly important role alongside performance.

The entire process of launching the new series onto the market, from its premiere in Lossburg through regional customer seminars to presentations at the MSV and Fakuma trade fairs, demonstrates that ARBURG sees TREND as an important strategic product for the future of standard plastics injection moulding. The manufacturer's ambition is to offer customers a solution that combines the brand's proven quality with the requirements of modern, efficient and economically sustainable production.
