Volkswagen Slovakia confirmed its stable position in 2025 with solid results.

Volkswagen Slovakia achieved solid results in 2025 both in production volume and in financial performance. They are proof of the stability and sustainability of the country’s largest company, which this year celebrates the 35th anniversary of its arrival in Slovakia. Volkswagen Slovakia is currently preparing for new projects that will require the recruitment of new employees.

A total of 336 905 vehicles rolled off the production lines at Volkswagen Slovakia's Bratislava plant in 2025. Eight models were in series production for customers of four brands belonging to the parent group: Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche and Škoda. SUVs accounted for 57 % of production, with the remainder comprising B-segment cars, represented by the Volkswagen Passat and Škoda Superb models. European countries were the largest market, accounting for 65 % of production.

In 2025, the plant prepared for the start of series production of the new Porsche Cayenne Electric model, which became the first all-electric SUV manufactured in Bratislava at the turn of the year. Other new models are already in the final phase, and their production ramp-up this year will be accompanied by the recruitment of approximately 1 200 new employees in vehicle production, for example in assembly or the body shop.

Volkswagen Slovakia's second plant, based in Martin, produced 21.6 million components for combustion and electric powertrains during the past year.

“The results for 2025 confirm the long-term stability of our company and the exceptional commitment of our employees. Despite challenging conditions, we managed to strengthen our position and take important steps towards the future,” said Wolfram Kirchert, Chairman of the Board of Management and Board Member for Technical Affairs at Volkswagen Slovakia.

Revenue development reflects the current production figures. Despite a slight year-on-year decline in vehicle production and the need to offset negative external influences, the company managed to maintain a stable situation. Turnover reached 12 billion euros. Profit before tax amounted to 330 million euros.

“Thousands of our employees contributed to the company's results, and on behalf of the entire management team, I would like to express our sincere thanks to them. For their commitment and work well done, they receive a special bonus every year in addition to their 13th and 14th month salaries. This time, the average bonus amounted to 2 122 euros,” added W. Kirchert.

Volkswagen Slovakia is also one of the largest and most stable investors in the country. Over 35 years, it has invested a total of approximately 6 billion euros in Slovakia, with investment over the past five years amounting to 1.3 billion euros.  Of this, investment in the past year accounted for 155 million euros.

The volume of materials purchased for vehicle production also contributes to Slovakia's economy, with the value sourced from Slovak suppliers once again reaching 3 billion euros. Volkswagen Slovakia primarily purchases JIT parts in Slovakia, which account for 29 %. In terms of turnover, Germany ranks first with 31 %, while Hungary ranks third with 16 %.

At the end of 2025, Volkswagen Slovakia employed 11 400 people, with its workforce having exceeded the ten-thousand mark for more than a decade. As a socially responsible employer, it increases pay scale wages every year in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Last year, the increase was 80 euros, and in January this year it was 4 %. The average gross monthly income of employees (excluding management) reached 3 123 euros in 2025. The company also provides employees with a comprehensive social benefits programme, on which it spent almost 23 million euros last year.

Sustainability and environmental protection are also among Volkswagen Slovakia's priorities. It has been building its environmental competitiveness over the long term through continuous improvements to production processes, reductions in environmental impact and technological modernisation. The company's goal is to find solutions that enable efficient, innovative production while ensuring the utmost consideration for the environment. In 2025, the company reached a strategic milestone – it completed a significant 15-year phase of its environmental strategy, during which the environmental performance of production was systematically improved. Over this period, it managed to reduce the environmental burden across five monitored indicators by an average of 66.9 %. After 2025, the company will assess all significant environmental indicators, or the overall impact of production on the environment. This means that it will move from targets focused on 5 key indicators to more comprehensive monitoring of impacts on resources, energy, land, biodiversity, logistics, architecture and operational practices, and from individual initiatives to a fully integrated approach across the entire value chain.
