Tata AutoComp Systems Limited is entering Slovakia: the plant in Lozorno will operate under the Artifex Systems brand

The Indian group is expanding its European footprint into Slovakia as well. Through Artifex Systems, it has taken over a manufacturing plant for automotive interior systems in Lozorno, located in an industrial park near Bratislava.

The automotive interior systems manufacturing plant in Lozorno is intended to serve as a springboard for further development within the European market. The plant previously operated within the IAC structure; following the transaction, it is being integrated under the Artifex brand. The acquisition was carried out through the British subsidiary Artifex Interior Systems Limited, which acquired a 100 % stake in IAC Group (Slovakia) s.r.o.. The process was subject to mandatory approvals – the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic approved the merger in September 2025.

The group states that the aim is to strengthen capacity and establish a stronger base for growth in the United Kingdom and in the European Union. This also includes unifying the “Artifex” identity across its European operations; strengthening the engineering base is also mentioned in this context (for example, the planned expansion of development capacity in Sweden).

Artifex positions itself as a supplier of “full-service” solutions for interior (and, according to the group's communications, also exterior) systems – from design and development through to production and just-in-time deliveries. Customers mentioned include OEM brands such as Jaguar Land Rover, MINI, Bentley, INEOS Automotive and Toyota.

Although the plant is in Lozorno, the impact may naturally extend across the supplier ecosystem in western Slovakia – including towards Nitra, where a major OEM plant operates (JLR launched production in Nitra in 2018). In practice, this often means pressure on suppliers for shorter logistics lead times, more flexible JIT deliveries and a broader network of local subcontractors in the region.
