Celebrating 90 Years of Fatra – With Smiles and Raincoats

The Open Day offered plenty of attractions for all generations. Young and old enjoyed creative workshops, competitions and a magician's performance. For adrenaline and sports enthusiasts, a bike show was staged, lighting up the eyes of many visitors. There was also a science show full of entertaining physics experiments that delighted children and adults alike.

In addition to the entertainment, visitors could also take a look inside the production facilities themselves. Guided tours offered a behind-the-scenes look at a company that has been an integral part of the community in the region for 90 years. Whether you were interested in the production of waterproofing membranes or other products, the guides were ready to answer all your questions.

The weather was a little troublesome, but it did not deter visitors at all. Umbrellas and raincoats became standard equipment, and spirits remained high. In the afternoon, the sky cleared and the concert by the Slovak band No Name took place in almost sunny weather – with a great atmosphere and an enthusiastic audience.

Visitors also included former employees who had worked at Fatra in earlier years. They recalled with a smile the days when they themselves worked in production, and were glad that, even after so many years, the company still thinks of its people and their families.

“I would like to thank all the company's former and current employees, more than 18 thousand of whom have passed through our gates according to HR statistics. Thanks to their skill, dedication and hard work, Fatra remains a major plastics processor in Europe,” said CEO Pavel Čechmánek at the opening.

The Open Day at Fatra thus showed that when you celebrate from the heart – and with an umbrella at the ready – the weather does not stand a chance.
