The BMW iX3 is coming: Production is underway at the new plant in Debrecen
BMW strengthens its electric mobility presence in neighboring Hungary
As is already known, BMW is producing its first model built on the Neue Klasse platform in Debrecen — the iX3. This model marks the beginning of a major design and technological transformation for the BMW brand. Naturally, it features a fully electric drivetrain, but the new model also stands out with support for ultra-fast charging of up to 400 kW. Its range is expected to reach up to 800 kilometres, while the vehicle will also offer a fully digital user experience. It is expected to arrive on Hungarian roads next spring, with a starting price of 22.7 million forints, which is approximately 58.6 thousand euros.
Neue Klasse gets off to a strong start as interest in the iX3 grows
The Neue Klasse models are not just another generational update. With this platform, BMW is essentially redefining the idea of the modern automobile. The minimalist design, the interior equipped with a panoramic display system, and the new generation of battery technologies all aim to move both the brand and the entire segment to a new level.
The SUV built on the Neue Klasse foundations has already recorded a record number of orders in Germany. Interest in the new iX3 is so strong that production in 2026 is expected to struggle to keep up with demand.
