Branson to showcase welding technologies at MSV 2026
At MSV Brno 2026 (Hall G1, Stand 55), Branson will showcase advanced welding and joining technologies that enhance manufacturing flexibility, quality, and connectivity.

Live demonstrations of welding and joining plastics and metals

Emerson, a global leader in technology, software and engineering, will present its latest Branson welding and joining technologies at the MSV 2026 International Engineering Fair, taking place from 6 to 9 October at the Brno Exhibition Centre in the Czech Republic. As the most important industrial trade fair in Central Europe, held alongside the PLASTEX and WELDING technology fairs, MSV brings together manufacturers and engineering specialists from across the region.

To remain competitive, manufacturers and OEM suppliers processing plastics and metals must maintain consistent welding quality and precision while adapting quickly to new materials, design trends and fluctuating production volumes. Emerson's stand (Hall G1, Stand 55) will showcase the latest Branson Polaris ultrasonic welding platform, laser welding and heat staking technologies, automation solutions and interfaces for Industry 4.0 connectivity. Designed for a wide range of applications, from automotive and medical devices to consumer electronics and packaging, these solutions help manufacturers optimise joining processes and improve throughput, uptime and product quality.

At the stand, visitors to the fair can meet Emerson experts, attend live demonstrations and explore the key innovations from Branson's extensive portfolio of welding and joining products:

The advanced Branson Polaris ultrasonic welding system demonstrates the flexibility of the recently launched, highly configurable Branson Polaris ultrasonic welding platform. Consisting of a power supply, controller and actuator that can be configured to suit virtually any application, the Polaris platform allows manufacturers to start with a laboratory system for development and proof of concept that can later be expanded into a fully automated production line. Visitors will see how real-time process data and secure connectivity to higher-level systems, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), give operators greater visibility and control over machine performance, supporting continuous process improvement, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and easier validation in regulated environments.

A live demonstration of Branson GPX PulseStaker technology will reveal how the unique PulseStaking technology can work with a cobot to optimise the thermal joining process for complex, sensitive and heat-sensitive components with moulded plastic parts. With localised heating and cooling that protect nearby components, without vibration, particulates or scorching, the GPX platform delivers high-quality joints, excellent product aesthetics and reduced energy consumption, giving designers greater freedom to work with dissimilar materials, complex 3D geometries and sensitive assemblies such as sensors and printed circuit boards (PCB).

The Branson GLX-1 laser welder features advanced Simultaneous Through-Transmission Infrared® (STTlr®) laser welding technology for micro and small plastic parts. Visitors can see how the compact, servo-controlled GLX-1 machine combines excellent weld strength and quality with exceptional speed and flexibility, while optional OPC-UA and Ethernet/IP data interfaces support the industry's growing demand for automation and IIoT (Industry 4.0) capabilities. As part of the GLX product range, the platform can also be scaled for larger parts and applications.

Branson automated welding and assembly systems

Using examples of special-purpose automated machines, we will demonstrate how Branson engineers can customise and fully automate welding and assembly systems across their core joining technologies. From integrated feeding and handling to multi-station assembly cells, these comprehensive solutions are tailored to each customer's parts, processes and production goals, helping manufacturers increase throughput and repeatability while reducing cycle times and labour time.

Connectivity interfaces demonstrate how Branson welding machines integrate seamlessly into smart factory environments. The Data Interface Gateway (DIG) connects up to 10 welding machines to the customer's IT network via OPC-UA, automatically recognises connected machines, provides status information and process data, and enables machine control from the production system. The Fieldbus Interface Gateway (FIG) connects Branson machines to a production line or automation control system via fieldbus, passes status and process data to the fieldbus master and enables control of up to 10 welding machines. The Service Interface Gateway (SIG) provides secure VPN-based remote service access for online support, diagnostics and software updates by Emerson's service organisation, as well as local functions such as synchronisation and backup of parameter sets, machine users and date/time across different Branson products. Everything will be shown visually on a display.
