Positive Summary of DESMA at K 2025
The initial presentation of the new vertical machine platform “REFERENCE 300+” met with great customer interest, especially in terms of its ergonomic overall design and new performance data. The virtual presentation of the horizontal machine “SEALMASTER 450+DUO” also provided many new ideas for future manufacturing processes and new product groups that can be produced using this technology in the injection molding process.
The newly developed machine networking system “DESMA DataHub” demonstrated a cost-effective way to network machines between different control generations. Additional networking with the PCF Navigator ECOS, with real data from the manufacturing process, enables very realistic calculation of the CO² footprint of the elastomer articles produced. In conjunction with the various effects of suitable measures for saving energy and optimizing the manufacturing process, this results in a good range of options for action.
The presentation of the four DESMA mold manufacturing locations in Germany, the USA, China, and India effectively conveyed the global availability of the extensive pool of expertise gained from thousands of molds and cold runner systems already delivered.
DESMA Automation, with its new host computer technology and comprehensive process simulation, also provided a good platform for lively project discussions.
However, in some customer discussions, the importance of K for the elastomer industry was clearly criticized, as there are fewer exhibitors for this industrial sector. The number of exhibitors in the areas of mold making, automation, article inspection systems, etc. declined significantly. In the area of exhibiting injection molding machine manufacturers for elastomers, some manufacturers were no longer represented. Some visitors also said that in future they would prefer to attend other, more specific trade fairs so that they could visit all the companies involved in the process chain in one place. Nevertheless, K 2025 came at the right time to provide a forum for new technologies and trends in challenging times.
