Laser marking with LIFOLAS M
Laser marking of plastic parts can be carried out in a variety of ways, including foaming, carbonisation or ablation. Foaming produces a light marking on a dark surface, which is ideal for plastics such as POM and PA. Carbonisation, on the other hand, produces a dark marking on a light surface and is often used for plastics such as PC, PS, PET, ABS and PBT. The ablation process allows the removal of the top coloured layer, exposing the underlying colour of the material, creating the 'day and night' effect known, for example, in illuminated keyboards.
