International engineering fair 2024 in Brno was marked by digitalization - photo gallery part 2, pavilions A2, B, E, F2
A Focus on Digitalisation
Automation, digitalisation and the potential applications of artificial intelligence in industry were discussed in every context at MSV. The Digital Factory 2.0 project took place for the fifth time, with more than 40 companies participating this year, led by its gold partner – the National Centre for Industry 4.0. “This year we had a truly large exhibition stand, which we put together with ten partners. And we managed to invite a really large number of visitors here and introduce them to our technologies and services. Our stand also attracted attention thanks to exhibits that appealed to visitors, such as a robotic beer tap, drone systems and a robotic dog transmitting video to the studio,” said Alena Nováková, Communications Manager and Press Spokesperson of the National Centre for Industry 4.0, in her assessment of the project.
New 3DEXPO PRO Section Dedicated to Additive Manufacturing
For the first time, MSV hosted the largest showcase of professional 3D printers, 3D scanners and related services on the Czech market. Products from fifty brands were presented by a record 26 exhibitors across an area of more than 1000 square metres. Together with the Additive Manufacturing Forum professional conference, attended by leading Czech and international experts, it offered an exceptional opportunity to learn about new developments and trends in the 3D printer market. “Despite the challenging situation in industry, we managed to achieve record figures across all indicators at the 10th edition of our conference and exhibition dedicated to 3D printing. The prestigious rotunda venue gave us added polish, and the event was a level above everything we had done in previous years. The exhibitors are satisfied, and never in my life have I received dozens of thank-you messages from people who visited us,” said Jan Homola, the organiser of both events, about this year's edition.

Dozens of events took place as part of the accompanying professional programme – conferences, workshops, seminars and panel discussions. An integral part of MSV is the Kontakt-Kontrakt matchmaking project, which facilitated hundreds of meetings between business partners this year. The traditional Kaletech Packaging Live project demonstrated a model packaging line, and many visitors were interested in the new Technology Exhibition, which used case studies to present Czech manufacturing companies' experiences of implementing new productivity-enhancing technologies.
MSV 2024 Gold Medal and, for the First Time, the MSV Industrial Design Award
Once again this year, exhibitors' exhibits competed for the prestigious MSV Gold Medal award. The expert judging panel awarded six Gold Medals to innovative exhibits. For the eighteenth time, a Gold Medal was also awarded for lifetime creative technical work and innovation achievements, this time to Prof. Přemysl Janíčko, who worked at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology.
In the Innovation in Materials, Components and Drives in Mechanical Engineering category, the Gold Medal went to the tandem three-shaft eight-speed sequential gearbox, presented by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Košice. In the Production Machine Innovation category, the winning exhibit was the innovative CNC educational system for secondary vocational schools from manufacturer DynamiTech and exhibitor Siemens. In the Technology Innovation for Sustainable Production category, the panel recognised the high-capacity battery storage system AEE, ECOGI-BU1S from Slovak manufacturer and exhibitor M-D-J. The Gold Medal in the Innovation in Industrial Automation, Digital Technologies and Industry 4.0 category went to the Renishaw AGILITY S12129 coordinate measuring machine from exhibitor Renishaw. In the Innovation in Transport and Logistics category, the award went to the flexible modular system for building cycle paths on disused railway lines, the result of Czech-Slovak cooperation, exhibited by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. A new feature of this year's edition was the award of the Judging Panel Chairman's Gold Medal for an outstanding result of research and development cooperation between academia and industry. This award went to the electrochemical surface polishing of additively manufactured metal parts from manufacturer ONE3D and exhibitor the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology.
For the first time, Industrial Design Awards were also presented at this year's MSV, organised by the CzechTrade Design Centre. The aim of the new competition is to promote industrial design as a tool for creative solutions in the mechanical and electrical engineering industries. The judging panel selected from all the exhibits on display and awarded first place to Prusa Research for the PRUSA PRO HT90 delta kinematic 3D printer. Pegas–Gonda received the second prize for the design of its 540 HORIZONT X twin-column band saw. Third place was awarded to JC – Metal for its sets of toggle clamps and clamps.
The next edition of the International Engineering Fair will take place from 7 to 10 October 2025.
