In 2025, Plasmatreat celebrated 30 years of global operations and the first year in the Czech Republic
Plasma Technology: The Driving Force Behind Future Manufacturing
Plasmatreat specialises in atmospheric plasma processes. Its unique Openair-Plasma® technology enables surface treatment at atmospheric pressure, without the need for a vacuum environment. Using only compressed air and electricity, the system offers a clean, efficient and sustainable solution. It can be applied selectively with high precision, as well as over large areas. Plasma applications can be integrated directly into existing production lines, saving time, reducing costs and improving product quality.
Key applications include:
- Microcleaning surfaces to remove organic residues, oils or dust.
- Surface activation to ensure strong adhesion of adhesives, coatings, seals and paints.
- Functional nanocoatings using PlasmaPlus® technology, enabling environmentally friendly adhesion promoters, hydrophobic or hydrophilic surface properties, corrosion protection and many other specialised surfaces.
- HydroPlasma® is a new cleaning method that combines conventional plasma cleaning with ionised water, enabling even stubborn contaminants such as oil, salt or fingerprints to be removed without chemicals
The technology also delivers a clear environmental benefit: plasma replaces a range of traditional chemical processes, reducing the amount of hazardous waste and supporting more sustainable and safer manufacturing.
Wide-Ranging Industrial Applications
Plasmatreat technologies are used in many sectors:
- Automotive and e-mobility: surface preparation for bonding and sealing, treatment of components for batteries and electronics.
- Electronics and semiconductors: improving the reliability of joints and extending product service life.
- Packaging industry: an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical primers, ensuring better adhesion of inks, coatings and adhesives.
- Medical technology: safe treatment of plastics, glass, metals and even sensitive surfaces, such as human skin used in medical applications.
- Consumer goods and household appliances: ensuring the long-term quality and durability of finished products.
Research and development is a key element of Plasmatreat's strategy. The company works closely with universities and research institutions to discover new plasma applications and put them into industrial practice.
One Year of the Czech Branch
In 2024, Plasmatreat established its Czech office in Hradec Králové, providing direct sales and service representation for the Czech and Slovak markets. This brought tangible benefits to local customers, such as:
- access to a dedicated local technical team with a fast response,
- communication in Czech and Slovak,
- on-site testing and consultation options,
- faster delivery of spare parts and service support.
The Czech branch works closely with long-standing partner LONTECH – surface treatment, s.r.o., ensuring continuity of services and customer care.
During its first year, the office has already established new partnerships in the automotive, electronics and packaging sectors. It has become an important link between Czech and Slovak manufacturers and Plasmatreat's global competence centres in Germany and other countries.
A Double Anniversary: Tradition Meets New Beginnings
“The year 2025 was symbolic for us. We were proud to celebrate 30 years of global innovation alongside our first year of successful operations in the Czech Republic. This double milestone highlighted both our strong history and our commitment to supporting local customers with state-of-the-art plasma solutions,” the company stated.
Plasmatreat thus confirms its ambition not only to remain a global innovator, but also to be a reliable local partner that understands the specific needs of industry in individual regions.
