ARBURG seminar in Brno: New TREND machines and a practical perspective on digitalization
At the premises of ARBURG in Brno, the branch of the German injection molding machine manufacturer, a customer seminar focused on current trends in plastic injection molding and production digitalization took place in mid-February. The event attracted 60 participants – professionals from plastics injection molding companies across the Czech Republic.

Technological Innovations in Injection Moulding Machines

The seminar programme was divided into two main subject areas. The first part focused on technological innovations in injection moulding machines. Participants were introduced to the concept behind the new TREND machine series, which reflects current requirements for low costs, efficiency and, at the same time, reliability in the production of plastic parts. The speakers outlined the basic technical principles of this series and its design philosophy. Those interested can also view the individual technological elements and their functions on the dedicated microsites, where animations and descriptions explain the main technical features of the new series in detail.

Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence in Industry

The second session of the seminar was devoted to digitalisation and the effective use of production and operational data. Today, machines can be connected not only for collecting process parameters but also for remote production monitoring and remote servicing, using ARBURG's MES system and communication software. In cooperation with TECHNODAT, opportunities for advanced data evaluation using artificial intelligence were presented. The discussion focused primarily on how data could in future be used not only to monitor production but also for machine learning and predicting the future development of processes.

According to the speakers, the use of artificial intelligence tools can bring further significant reductions in production costs and improvements in process stability. Implementing advanced analytics and artificial intelligence tools is not a universal solution, but always an individual process based on the specific conditions of the operation concerned. The key is to make the right start by analysing processes and the quality of available data, and defining the area where digitalisation can deliver the greatest benefit. TECHNODAT offers support both in process and data analysis and in designing a pilot project to verify the benefits of working with production data in a real operating environment.

The seminar thus offered insight into a new technological solution for injection moulding machines and the implementation of further digitalisation steps. Thanks to the participants' active involvement and practical demonstrations of individual pieces of equipment, the seminar moved beyond theory into lively discussions about the current state of the industry and its future direction.
