AMPER 2026: More exhibitors, full exhibition halls, and a richer supporting programme
“We are very pleased with the strong interest from exhibitors and visitors, the return of major companies and the positive feedback on the new programme features. We also appreciate the exceptional involvement of our professional partners and the quality of the accompanying activities, which focused on current topics across sectors. I believe we have succeeded in laying solid foundations for the further development of the AMPER trade fair as a key platform for electrical engineering, energy and industrial innovation in Central Europe,” said Jan Kubata, CEO of Veletrhy Brno.
VIP Attendance from Government, Business Associations and Companies Themselves
The trade fair was opened by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, who noted that the sectors represented are pillars of our economy. He also attended the AMPER SUMMIT trade fair conference, where he presented the government's energy strategy. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Jaromír Zůna and Minister of the Environment Igor Červený spoke at the official evening opening. VIP guests also included President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce Zdeněk Zajíček, President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic Jan Rafaj and Executive Director of the Czech Energy Association Josef Kotrba. Throughout all three days, the Electrical and Electronic Association, the trade fair's professional partner, was actively involved in the proceedings.
This year's edition also had a strong exhibitor presence. A number of major players returned to the trade fair, joined by new companies exhibiting for the first time. Together with the traditionally represented brands, this year's edition thus confirmed the growing importance of the AMPER trade fair as a key gathering of electrical engineering and energy professionals.
Alongside the commercial exhibits, space was also given to the education sector. AMPER Innovation Hub presented exhibits from leading universities, higher education institutions and start-ups. The project focused on demonstrating students' involvement in practical work and connecting academia with industry. Eight university departments from Czechia and Slovakia were represented in the section.
Electromobility Drew the Crowds
The AMPER E-MOBILITY section, together with the E-STAGE programme stage, attracted strong interest. Test drives took place in the adjacent outdoor area amid considerable visitor interest, while the exhibits also featured charging infrastructure, including unique Czech solutions developed in-house. Above all, however, the latest electric vehicles from various brands were presented.
At the ZHT Group stand, visitors could discover two major new offerings from Kia – the Kia EV5 family electric vehicle with ample usable space and the Kia PV5 Cargo commercial van, whose modular design also makes it suitable for official use, for example by municipal police. Hedin Automotive presented two major new electric models from Mercedes Benz. The new GLB and GLC models offer revolutionary technologies, a long range and significantly greater practicality for families. Suzuki eVitara made its trade fair debut at the CanoCar stand. The Agrotec exhibit presented the Czech Car of the Year 2026 for the first time: the Škoda Elroq – a model that placed second in the European Car of the Year competition and was also available for test drives on the grounds.
Successful Debut of AMPER STAGE
Under the new organiser, the accompanying programme also entered a new era. The three-day AMPER STAGE brought discussions and engaging presentations directly to Hall P. Each day focused on one key topic: cybersecurity, energy and industrial efficiency, or the digital transformation of Czech industry. “We designed AMPER STAGE so that everyone could find something relevant – tradespeople and small or medium-sized companies in our sector, representatives of other industrial sectors for which we are subcontractors, as well as students. All of them explored where the world of digital transformation is heading. Direct contact with people on the exhibition floor proved effective for us, as it is more lively than in enclosed conference halls,” said Jiří Holoubek, President of the Electrical and Electronic Association of the Czech Republic, which provided the AMPER STAGE programme jointly with Brno University of Technology.
Conference with New Topics: From Drones to Community Energy
The specialist conference DronyX, organised by Jan Homola in cooperation with CZ DEFENCE magazine, brought to Brno the key players on whom the development and strategic applications of unmanned systems for defence forces depend. “The high importance of the topic was underscored by the personal patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Jaromír Zůna and the active participation of senior officers responsible for autonomous systems and defence against them in the Czech Armed Forces. Twenty companies that are among the Czech pioneers in drone and counter-drone technologies participated in the event, which attracted almost 250 attendees,” said Jan Homola in his assessment of the new DronyX conference.
New additions also included the annual SMART INDUSTRY – AMPER EDITION conference, focused on educating the market and supporting the modernisation of industrial enterprises. “The combination of our traditional conference and the newly conceived AMPER trade fair was a pleasant surprise. It attracted considerable interest from industrial professionals, enabling us to present modern solutions for domestic industry. In terms of interest, the event certainly met our expectations,” said Lukáš Smelík, the project's organiser on behalf of Trade Media International. The project also included a special exhibit presenting specific solutions in maintenance digitalisation, data handling, advanced visualisation, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.
The fully packed hall at the Union of Community Energy conference (UKEN) confirmed the growing interest in this topic. “Following the successful launch of electricity sharing, we must now define the further benefits of community energy, such as stability, energy self-sufficiency, strengthening the local economy and greater public involvement in decision-making,” said Sandra Čumić, UKEN Project Coordinator.
During the trade fair, Open 5G Hub Brno was officially launched – a new testing zone designed to validate smart and innovative solutions in a real-world environment. It is based on the use of a private 5G network supplied by T-Mobile. The project is part of the BVV Living Lab Brno living laboratory and will provide facilities for testing and demonstrating technologies across smart cities, Industry 4.0 and future mobility.
The Kontakt-Kontrakt networking project took place at the AMPER trade fair for the first time, with around 500 scheduled B2B meetings between participants from 25 countries. Alongside the new additions, established events continued, including AMPER SUMMIT, focused on key strategies for the development of modern energy. The Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Regional Chamber of Commerce of the South Moravian Region were involved in its organisation. The main partner was ČEZ Group.
Awards for Innovative Exhibits and, for the First Time, Outstanding Industrial Design
Six innovative exhibits received the ZLATÝ AMPER 2026 award. The RiLineX busbar system from Rittal, which simplifies and accelerates the design and installation of power switchboards, was recognised. The expert jury named the 3MI instrument for the MetOp-SG satellite, exhibited by the Department of Microelectronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication of Brno University of Technology, the best digital solution. Innomotics and its permanent magnet motors won in the sustainable solution category. The SACE Emax 3 air circuit breaker from ABB was recognised in the safety category. The Hager quickconnect screwless system from Hager Electro was named the best solution in electrical installations. As part of the ZLATÝ AMPER competition, the Electrical and Electronic Association of the Czech Republic awarded a prize for the product with the greatest business potential for the first time, to the CAB.iQ exhibit – an intelligent robotic storage system for CAB magazines from ORBIT MERRET.
The student projects on display were also recognised. In the best university project category, the Brno Mars Rover association from Brno University of Technology received the STUDENT ZLATÝ AMPER 2026 award for developing the autonomous rover “Freya” and a drone capable of navigation and sample collection in an unfamiliar outdoor environment. The creator of the best secondary school project is Jakub Straka from the Secondary Technical School in Prosek. His electromagnetic accelerator project focuses on the design and construction of a device that accelerates a metal object using electromagnetic force.
The Industrial Design Award was presented at the AMPER trade fair for the first time. In this case, exhibitors did not enter the competition; instead, an expert jury selected the winners from all the exhibits on display. First place went to the 2N IP ONE INTERCOM product, manufactured by 2N Telekomunikace. Second place went to the C1X CAMERA product, exhibited by Moravské přístroje. OlifeEnergyx took home the third industrial design prize from the AMPER trade fair for its AC LITE charging station product.
