The New Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 Is Approaching. It Is Time to Prepare for Changes in Machinery Safety

6.8.2026
Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 on machinery will become fully applicable on 20 January 2027, replacing the current Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. For manufacturers, system integrators and machinery operators, 2026 is therefore a crucial year to understand the current requirements while preparing for the new legislative framework.

What Is Changing and What Obligations Do You Already Have Today?

The links between current and new legislation are among the topics covered in the Introduction to the Functional Safety of Machinery training course, which we are organising on 20. 8. 2026 in Adamov.
Participants will gain a basic understanding of the interrelationships between laws, regulations, directives and technical standards. A separate section addresses new machinery, Directive 2006/42/EC, risk assessment, the process of placing machinery on the market and the responsibilities arising from it.

New Machines, Machinery in Operation and the Transition to Regulation (EU) 2023/1230

The second area covers machinery in operation and Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. We will discuss the responsibilities of manufacturers and operators, checks, inspections, assessments and the issue of substantial and non-substantial modifications.
The final session will focus on upcoming changes, Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, new standards and Act No. 264/2025 Coll. on cybersecurity.
Individual consultations are also an important part of our training courses. Participants can thus discuss specific questions and problems from their operations with our specialists.
