Slovak Plastics Cluster celebrated its 16th anniversary with the General Assembly
The assembly was attended by 19 cluster members and several other invited guests. The General Assembly was opened by Ing. Juraj Majerský, Chairman of the Presidium of Slovenský plastikársky klaster. The opening focused on approving the SPK agenda and electing members of the Supervisory Board and Presidium, the minute-taker, and the committee's verifiers.
The meeting's agenda then continued with Ing. Slavomír Tirpák, the new Executive Director of Slovenský plastikársky klaster, who presented the Annual Report for 2024, reviewed the key activities of 2024, as well as his four months in the new role of SPK Executive Director, in which he replaced former Director Katarína Ikrényiová.
The most significant achievement was obtaining the Silver label of cluster management excellence award, which means that SPK is an important partner for state and public administration authorities, and the continuation of the “PLAN-C" Project, which supports the transformation of the plastics value chain in the Danube region towards circularity through transnational cooperation in the plastics and mechanical engineering industries (both processors and manufacturers).
He then informed members about the amendment to the statutes, and a vote was passed to supplement them throughout with the phrase "composite materials, elastomers and rubber" in all sections.
After a short break, he presented the Report on SPK's Financial Management for 2024, the Budget for 2025, as well as the Activity Plan for the coming period. This year, the Plaster newsletter will be published every two months, i.e. 6 times a year.
During the discussion, members addressed the issue of charging fees for associate membership. This concerns new organisations whose activities are not directly related to SPK's activities but support it, e.g. advertising agencies, law firms, etc. A membership fee of 150 €/year was approved. Associate members cannot be elected to governing bodies and cannot vote.
At the end of the event, an interesting presentation entitled “Plastic under the supercomputer's microscope: more precise production, fewer rejects, more innovation" was delivered by Ing. Lucia Malíčková, PhD., NSCC Project Coordinator.
The final official item was a presentation by MIRRI on funding opportunities for innovation projects and the digitalisation of industrial enterprises, EXPANDI 4.0, prepared by Zuzana Slezáková and Artur Bobovnický from SIEA.
The meeting continued informally over lunch with discussions and networking.
