Picking and handling without unnecessary errors

In such cases, solutions like Pick-to-Light or Manipulate-to-Light are integrated into the process. Using light signals, they guide the worker to the correct item, location, or task, thereby reducing the risk of error and shortening the time required for picking or handling.

At Jaguar Land Rover, the solution currently achieves an error rate of 0.0001 %, a picking speed of 450 items per hour per operator, and a productivity increase of 30 – 150 % depending on the layout of the workspace.

Another option is autonomous material handling. In a project for Lunys, AMR robots were introduced into warehouse operations to support the autonomous movement of goods and help relieve people of repetitive logistics tasks.

The greatest benefits of digitization and automation do not come from implementing a single, isolated technology. They arise when data, systems, people, and technologies work together.
