Energy-Efficient Air Humidification

As last year, Drekoma is once again offering an energy-efficient solution for air humidification. At a time when energy prices continue to rise, savings in this area are a welcome advantage. Wherever dry air causes problems, or where energy-intensive systems are being replaced with more economical alternatives, Drekoma offers a solution up to 160× more efficient than conventional steam humidification, thanks to the patented Merlin Technology-Orbit Wing technology. 

Innovative Orbit Wing® System

This system works on an aerodynamic principle, with specially integrated wings creating air turbulence behind the nozzles. This causes the fine aerosol to move in a circle, extending its path while significantly reducing the distance required for evaporation, thereby also addressing space constraints. The Orbit Wing® system is suitable for all types of air handling and air conditioning units, is easy to install and achieves up to 98% efficiency, while consuming just 2.5 to 3 W of energy per kilogram of moisture. The Orbit Wing® system was developed specifically for the plastics manufacturing and processing industries. It significantly reduces, eliminates electrostatic charge. The evaporation of the aerosol into the air causes adiabatic cooling of the environment. For example, the Orbit Wing® system removes 100 kw of heat using 600 Wat of energy and 150 litres of water.

Intelligent Control and Hygiene

One of the new features is intelligent pressure control and regulation during water mist spraying, which significantly improves the working environment, reduces employee sickness rates and increases production efficiency. The system also effectively eliminates damage caused by dry air. The equipment uses treated drinking water, which is softened and undergoes reverse osmosis and, where necessary, disinfection. An oil-free pump then delivers it under high pressure to the nozzles, which spray it into a fine aerosol. The SPS control unit with PID control prevents over-humidification and condensate formation.
