Slovnaft: The Government of Slovakia threatens Slovakia's energy security

Slovnaft takes note of Wednesday's decision of the Government of the Slovak Republic on the introduction of a solidarity contribution in the amount of 70%. However, we perceive a more than two-fold increase in the rate compared to the EU Council's recommendation, which is at the level of 33%, as discriminatory and highly disadvantageous in a competitive environment, which will have a negative impact on the country's energy security, the Slovak economy and, ultimately, the revenues of the state budget in the future.

Zaistenie energetickej bezpečnosti Slovenska aj stredoeurópskeho regiónu si vyžaduje investície rádovo v stovkách miliónov eur, pričom takto navrhnutý solidárny príspevok môže investície spoločnosti Slovnaft výrazne oklieštiť.

Mrzí nás, že nikto zo zástupcov vlády si nenašiel čas rokovať s jedným z najväčších prispievateľov do štátneho rozpočtu a konzultovať tak zásadnú vec. Vláda zavádza neúmerne vysoký solidárny príspevok bez relevantných analýz a prepočtov práve v čase, kedy by sa mala sústrediť na pomoc pri zabezpečení alternatívnych dodávok ropy najmä z pohľadu prepravných kapacít a taríf.

Spoločnosť Slovnaft a Skupina MOL preskúmajú všetky právne možnosti aj v súvislosti s dohodou o vzájomnej podpore a ochrane investícií medzi Slovenskom a Maďarskom.
