SinuCraft offers affordable large-format 3D printing for every production facility
Large-format 3D printing enables the fast production of large parts, prototypes, and moulds while significantly saving time, material, and costs. The Czech company SinuCraft brings a major innovation to this field – a CNC-controlled machine with six-axis kinematics. The combination of robotic flexibility and the precision of CNC control offers an affordable solution for every company.

Large-Format 3D Printing at an Affordable Price

Large-format 3D printing is now used in the automotive industry, aviation, mould manufacturing, architecture and design. However, SinuCraft is demonstrating that the potential of this technology is much greater still. Sinucraft was founded by Czech specialists with several decades of experience in robotics and CNC programming. Developing a robotic 3D printer was therefore a natural progression. Their aim is to supply our market with world-class machines at a price that even an ordinary woodworking workshop can afford. Jiří Samek, co-founder of SinuCraft, explains: “Solutions similar to ours exist on the market, but the acquisition costs are too high. We therefore took inspiration from major brands abroad, such as CMS, Cead and Weber, and we manufacture a multifunctional printer using components of the same quality and a range of our own improvements. With an affordable printer from Sinucraft, small and medium-sized companies can take on contracts that were previously beyond their technological capabilities. They also have the assurance of local support, which our customers greatly appreciate.”

A Robot You Will Be Able to Operate

What does a CNC machine with six-axis kinematics mean in practice? At first glance, it is an industrial robotic arm, but its movements are programmed through the widely used Sinumerik ONE, just like a conventional CNC machine. This means that almost any technical secondary school graduate with knowledge of G-code can program it. As a result, users have no difficulty finding operators for the machine. A key advantage of CNC control is complete control over the nozzle trajectory. Sinumerik ONE is essentially a highly stable system and offers the highest level of industrial cybersecurity.

Lower Price and Easier Installation

The robotic workstation is compact, and its installation is incomparably easier than that of conventional gantry CNC machines requiring a foundation slab. The robot is anchored to the floor, and that is all. An advantage everyone will appreciate is the purchase price. SinuCraft machines cost approximately half as much as a conventional large CNC machining centre. Yet the jobs they can print are comparable. Six-axis kinematics offers flexibility in the working envelope. The reach of the robotic arm allows parts several metres high to be manufactured. If required, the working envelope can be extended almost without limit by mounting the robot on a linear guide. “With a large CNC machine costing fourteen million, you have a travel of 900 millimetres. We can print or machine parts 2.5 metres high. In practice, this means that a customer can manufacture things they would have no chance of making with a traditional CNC machine,” summarises Jiří Samek.

A Versatile Solution for Practical Applications

Thanks to its speed and favourable price, large-format printing using plastic pellets is the most widely used form in industry. Large parts are produced within a few hours. They are then machined, usually by milling, for subsequent use. This gives them the required accuracy and surface quality. Here, too, the advantages of SinuCraft's solution become apparent. Machining can continue on the same machine on which printing took place. Instead of an extruder, the robot carries a milling head. Thanks to CNC control, machining is precise and can handle even highly complex shapes. The robots used by SinuCraft have sufficient rigidity to ensure high machining accuracy and repeatability. For the most demanding applications, it deploys Swiss MABI robots designed and built for machining steel parts.

One Machine for a Range of Operations

3D printing and subsequent machining on a single machine reduces the production cycle to a minimum. But SinuCraft can also make use of further possibilities. A single robotic arm can be fitted with an extruder, a milling spindle, a grinder, a welding tool or a laser. The user thus gains a versatile manufacturing platform that can adapt to the company's current needs and secure its place in a changing market. For companies seeking to make full use of the possibilities of large-format 3D printing, SinuCraft technology is therefore becoming a logical and increasingly indispensable choice. “We save companies not only money, but also space and time. In my view, these are the main reasons why they choose our solution,” concludes Jiří Samek.
