“From Digitalisation to Sustainability” Conference: The Focal Point of the Professional Programme
The main programme was the conference “From Digitalisation to Sustainability – Next-Generation Industry”, which took place on 21 May in cooperation with SAPIE. Speakers included technology sector leaders, government representatives and academics. Discussions focused on the practical aspects of manufacturing digitalisation, financing innovation through grants and venture capital, cybersecurity in the context of the NIS2 Directive and the impact of artificial intelligence on the labour market.
The panel discussion devoted to automation and robotics attracted considerable interest, presenting successful examples of the implementation of collaborative systems in Slovak companies. Participants also appreciated the session devoted to employee education and retraining as a key tool in the transition to Industry 4.0.
TECHFORUM and Innovations from Universities
The academic sector was also strongly represented. As part of TECHFORUM, Slovak technical universities presented – including the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at TUKE – their research projects, which combine tradition with modern technologies. Visitors could see applications in robotics, mobility, automation and manufacturing process simulation.
Industrial Safety: Technical Seminar by Technická inšpekcia
A technical seminar by Technická inšpekcia was also held on the same day, focusing on safety and legislative requirements for machinery. Attention was paid to current standards for production lines, robotic workstations and electrical installations. Experts also discussed trends in equipment inspection and certification.
ELECTRON and the Slovak Simulated Welding Championships
As is traditional, the fair included the 27th edition of the national ELECTRON conference, devoted to the inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment. A new addition that attracted the attention of young technicians and visitors alike was the Slovak Simulated Welding Championships. The competition connected manual skills with the world of simulation and VR technologies and showed that skilled trades are also becoming digitalised.
ZSVTS Celebrated 35 Years and Opened a Discussion on the Future of Technology
The Association of Slovak Scientific and Technological Societies (ZSVTS), which serves as an umbrella organisation for dozens of professional associations in Slovakia, marked the 35th anniversary of its modern history. To mark the occasion, it organised the professional forum “Future Challenges for Science and Technology”, where technical education, interdisciplinary cooperation and the need for closer links between research and practice were prominent themes.
International Engineering Fair Awards
The organiser of the International Engineering Fair announces the International Engineering Fair Award Competition every year. The purpose of the competition is to recognise outstanding products, collections and noteworthy displays resulting from the joint efforts of manufacturers and traders. This year, the competition was held for the 26th time. The competition was judged by an eight-member jury composed of experts from the Slovak Republic, led by its chairman, Mr Juraj Beniak, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at STU in Bratislava. Over the course of one day, the expert jury assessed exhibits displayed at the fair that exhibitors had entered in the competition or that had been nominated directly. The jury evaluated individual products or sets of products in accordance with the Competition Rules.
The evaluation criteria were as follows:
- technical and operating parameters,
- quality of the exhibit presentation,
- product and display design,
- completeness and quality of the accompanying technical documentation.
The exhibits were evaluated as a whole, regardless of product category. Based on its assessment of the entered exhibits, the jury decided to present the International Engineering Fair 2025 Awards as follows:
|
The jury presented the award for a simple and innovative contactless load handling system with the potential for widespread use in manufacturing processes and logistics to improve workplace safety and eliminate chronic musculoskeletal disorders. |
|
| The jury presented the award for the development of a unique, fully autonomous mobile “geo-scanner”. The system, called eRover, can carry out leak detection surveys on various surfaces and under various operating conditions, including aggressive environments. | |
| The jury presented the award for an innovative approach to automated PCB inspection, combining a proprietary software solution with high-quality industrial automation hardware components. | |

DAITABLE and Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing
Dozens of innovative Slovak companies presented themselves at the fair. Particular attention was drawn to DAITABLE, which presented solutions for monitoring and predicting electricity consumption in manufacturing companies using artificial intelligence. Their technology enables companies to plan more efficiently and detect energy losses in real time.
MSV 2025 in Nitra: Slovak Industry Is Ready for the Challenges of the Future
The 30th edition of MSV showed that Slovak industry is not merely witnessing digital transformation but actively shaping it. Expert discussions, innovation stands, links between academia and practice, and technological innovations from Slovakia and abroad sent a clear signal: the future of industry lies in digitalisation, cooperation and the courage to innovate.
