Engel and Hotset Collaboration = Revolution in Injection Molding
The System Centre for Industrial Temperature Control (SIT) is an institution for experts in the field of thermodynamics and offers specialists in plastic manufacturing technology and tool making the opportunity to get firsthand information about the performance of the DH-system (Dynamic Heating System). The high-speed process of partial cyclic temperature regulation in cavities is considered by experts to be one of the most important innovations in the field of variothermal temperature regulation in molds.

A think tank for injection moulding companies and mould manufacturers

We are presenting it on an ENGEL injection moulding machine in the system centre. The Austrian machine manufacturer and systems expert supports the temperature control process from hotset with innovative injection moulding technology.

Are you looking for ways to optimise the surface design of plastic mouldings and films or to produce polymer microstructures?

Are you interested in processes and systems that allow you to control temperatures with the highest level of accuracy and precision at the right moment?

Then welcome to the System Centre for Industrial Temperature Control (SIT) in Lüdenscheid! Here you have the opportunity to discover our innovations in targeted temperature control of moulds and process media, as well as to familiarise yourself with semi-finished plastic products and finished products – and test them thoroughly.

SGM from ENGEL

Current focus: DH-System

With DH-System, hotset focuses on optimising surface quality and cost-effective process optimisation in plastics injection moulding. Produce high-quality, defect-free and aesthetically refined surfaces based on a heating rate of 60 K/s without longer cycle times. This also brings energy savings thanks to the low heating power required during the injection moulding process.

DH-System: Absolute precision, the right temperature at the right time, at exactly the right place in the cavity. The result: no visible notches along weld lines, no flow lines or dull rings. In addition, you can achieve thin walls, delicate geometries or microstructures of outstanding quality.

The SIT department is currently focusing on the practical presentation and demonstration of DH-System for localised cyclic temperature control of injection mould cavities. A complete working injection moulding line is available at the SIT premises: with an SGM from ENGEL, control technology for DH-System, as well as an equipped mould, using cooling water and a material drying system.

This workflow is open for you, as plastics processors, toolmakers and product developers, to try out. You can test the use of DH-System under production conditions and try out various DH-System configurations: a fully integrated machine solution, a stand-alone version or a retrofit kit. You will also have the opportunity to carry out assessments of specific samples or material tests.

Take this opportunity and come and try what is probably the most innovative temperature control process currently available in the field of plastics injection moulding technology.
