PKN ORLEN awarded as the World’s Most Ethical Company in 2014

PKN ORLEN, parental company of Unipetrol, has been awarded the prestigious title of The World’s Most Ethical Company in 2014 in the oil and energy industry category. PKN ORLEN, Central Europe’s largest refining and petrochemical group, is the only company in the region recognised with this title. Unipetrol has been part of ORLEN Group since 2005.

"The award is a significant distinction for our company which confirms that our corporate ethics measures, implemented in ORLEN Group, are in fact compliant with the world's highest standards. This is of great importance to us, given the complex nature of our operations and their global reach. We are proving that market problems must never release a company's management board and employees from their duty to conduct business in an ethical manner," said Jacek Krawiec, President of the PKN ORLEN Management Board.

The title is awarded to companies based on the Ethics Quotient™ Framework, a comprehensive scoring methodology developed by the Ethisphere Institute and a team of international advisors on business ethics and best practices. The key criterion in selecting the world’s most ethical companies is their ability to successfully integrate an ethical conduct programme into their daily operations and set solid standards for ethical leadership. The World’s Most Ethical Company title has been awarded since 2006, this year 144 companies around the world have been awarded.

Unipetrol, as a member of PKN ORLEN, supports the same line of ethical principles. The company values are streamlined with those of the mother company. Affiliated members of the Unipetrol Group abide by the same ethical standards and responsibilities toward all stakeholders – employees, customers, shareholders, business and social partners, and the society. By means of the Code of Ethics, they undertake to comply with clear principles forming a basic framework for the business and social conduct, and for the creation of the corporate culture in the companies of the Unipetrol Group.
