Technological innovations were presented at the Brno Exhibition Centre by 1 386 exhibiting companies from 42 countries around the world. Over the four days, more than 55,000 visitors, mainly technicians and businessmen who need to put innovations into practice quickly, visited their stands. In the first part of the article we bring you a photo gallery from the G1, V and P pavilions.

Industrial manufacturing is undergoing a digital transformation, and this year's MSV was once again an opportunity to see this change first-hand across a broad range of industries. The rapid pace of innovation was also reflected in the lively atmosphere in the halls, which exhibitors greatly appreciated. The stands were the scene of intensive discussions about the technical details of the exhibits on display and new orders. “MSV has always been and remains a reflection of its time, and therefore of the latest technological progress, in which, alongside automation, the key concepts are digitalisation, artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, reducing energy consumption, and sustainability and recycling. These are precisely the areas that present new challenges for modern industrial manufacturing in the 21st century, and MSV provides answers to them. That is why, even as Europe's longest-running engineering trade fair, it continues to attract considerable interest,” said Jan Kubata, CEO of Veletrhy Brno, about this year's edition.

Global Reach Supported Czech Exports

Half of all exhibiting companies came from abroad, with Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Slovakia having the strongest representation. China, France, India, Italy, Japan, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Taiwan and Ukraine had official stands at the fair supported by their governments or export promotion institutions.

A number of trade delegations also travelled to the fair, three of them from the USA and others from countries including Malaysia, Morocco and India. The successful Contact Ukraine project, which connects Czech and Ukrainian companies, continued. The Czech and Moroccan electrical engineering associations ElA and FENELEC signed a memorandum of cooperation at the fair, as did Veletrhy Brno and the Czech-Indian Joint Chamber of Commerce.

At the same time, the Czech National Stand opened at MSV for the fifth time, bringing together state services for Czech entrepreneurs, and exporters in particular, in one place. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, it brought together the services of 13 institutions, and the stand hosted an interesting accompanying programme, which culminated on Thursday in consultations with the directors of CzechTrade's foreign offices.

Czech President and Prime Minister Visited the Fair

“I consider MSV not only a prestigious event that deserves the attention of the country's senior officials, but for me personally it was also exceptionally motivating and refreshing in the sense that I see many companies here moving in precisely the direction we would like them to take. That means innovation, new technologies, establishing contacts, and sharing between academia and business and with one another,” declared President Petr Pavel at a press conference. During his visit lasting several hours, he toured the exhibition halls and learned about some of the innovative exhibits.

The traditional Assembly of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic took place at the fair, where government representatives exchanged views with industrialists and entrepreneurs. Prime Minister Petr Fiala was also present and continued discussions with Czech entrepreneurs during the subsequent tour of the exhibition stands. “This fair is an excellent opportunity to meet, build contacts, sign contracts, exchange ideas and find inspiration for our own work,” said Petr Fiala, summing up his impressions in a speech delivered at the evening opening ceremony of MSV.

Immediately after his appointment and inauguration, the new Minister of Industry and Trade, Lukáš Vlček, headed to MSV, a move that representatives of Czech industry greatly appreciated. Minister of Transport Martin Kupka and Minister of the Environment Petr Hladík also came to view the exhibition stands.
