The Central European Plastics Meeting 2025 took place in Budapest from 16 to 18 September 2025. The three-day event featured lectures, panel discussions, and networking, with key topics including recycling, legislative challenges, and new technologies in the plastics sector.

Opening Day: B2B Meetings and Challenges for the Chemical Industry

Central European Plastics Meeting 2025 opened its doors on 16 September at Eiffel Art Studios in Budapest, a unique cultural and industrial venue in a renovated historic building that combines an industrial atmosphere with modern architecture, creating an inspiring setting for professional and social events alike. The very first day was marked by intensive B2B meetings, during which participants met new partners and explored opportunities for cooperation.

CEPM 2025 - B2B Discussions

The afternoon continued with the Plan-C International workshop, which focused on how to make the Central European plastics and mechanical engineering industries more circular. The highlight of the first day was the “The Big Picture” panel, where experts discussed the competitiveness of the European chemical industry and also presented the so-called CEPM Plastics Industry Declaration – a joint appeal to the European Commission.

Day Two: Discussions on Engineering Plastics, Packaging and Waste Management

The second day of the conference opened with a session dedicated to engineering plastics, where experts discussed their potential applications in an increasingly complex market environment. In the afternoon, attention shifted to the packaging industry – discussions covered the use of recycled materials, certifications and trends shaping packaging across Europe. At the end of the day, waste management was a prominent topic, specifically the efficient processing of polyolefin waste.

Day Three: Science and Startups in the Plastics Industry

The third day was dedicated to connecting industry with science. In the “The Industry Meets Science” session, research teams and startups presented their latest projects ready for practical application. These included innovations in biopolymers, new approaches to biocomposites and biotechnological solutions for recycling. This session demonstrated that the industry's future will depend on close cooperation between industrial companies and research institutions.
