The company Caltex Czech is the first European branch of the Korean petrochemical company GS Caltex, the leader in Asia-Pacific region. The company has just completed the construction of a new plant in Karvina and began to produce the PP compound as well as the LFT material. The annual material production capacity will be up to 50 000 MT.

The polypropylene compound has a big use for the production of automotive plastic parts, interiors as well as exteriors parts or parts for home appliances.

The material is widely used for the production of instrument panels, door trims, center consoles, bumpers and other plastic parts in the car. The strongpoint of GS Caltex Czech is recently very popular LFT material (long glass fiber thermoplastic). This material is a great substitute for some metal molded thermosets in vehicles. Thanks to the use of LFT material is possible to dramatically decrease weight of the final parts and this fact is followed by low emissions in car.

The other business area consists of the material production for plastic parts of home appliances. For example in washing machines the polypropylene parts can reduce the production price and accelerate the production process.
