Frigel to introduce portable chillers with advanced control tech for improved productivity

Frigel, the pioneer in intelligent process cooling, invites attendees of K 2016 to visit its booth to learn how advanced 3PR control technology with WiFi and Ethernet connectivity on its Microgel line of machine-side chiller/temperature control units (TCUs) improves productivity and profitability – while also marking a first for portable chillers.

Visitors to the booth will also be introduced to the company’s enhanced and expanded line of Heavygel air-cooled central chillers. The chillers, which also feature the new control platform, offer users more options while helping them lower cost with industry leading Energy Efficiency Ratings (EERs). Designed for global applications, the Heavygel air-cooled chiller line now extends to over 30 models, including units capable of operation in ambient temperatures up to 55 degrees C (131 F).

The 3PR control console on the Microgel and Heavygel product lines leverages the same technology that was first introduced on Frigel’s innovative Ecodry closed-loop adiabatic central cooling systems in 2015. According to Frigel CEO Duccio Dorin, the extension of 3PR to more Frigel products, as well as the enhanced line of air-cooled chillers, gives plastics processors the ability to better meet increasing demands on their businesses.

“For decades Frigel has helped plastic processors worldwide leverage advanced process cooling technology as a way to more efficiently produce high quality parts and products while saving money in the process,” said Dorin. “It’s all about more intelligent process cooling, which we introduced long ago starting with the Ecodry system. Now, the use of the control technology on our Microgel and Heavygel products takes it to a new level. Additionally, our enhanced line of Heavygel chillers gives users a greater flexibility in choosing a system that best meets their production and cost-saving goals.”
